A buff horse who went to high school a year ahead of Zephyrus. Secretly has a bit of zebra in his lineage, but was able to dye his mane and keep it from his fellow students. When freshman Zeph was being mercilessly bullied by the other kids, Hoss showed compassion and took the young hybrid under his wing. He also introduced Zephyrus to bodybuilding and set him on that path as well.
Young Zephyrus had his first serious crush on Hoss, but unfortunately Hoss fell in love after graduating and moving to the West Coast to pursue a career in bodybuilding competition and acting, and so the crush was unrequited. However, they remained close friends into adulthood.
